The Botanical Garden

Botanical Garden, 4230m2 in area, maintains ca. 600 plant species (including ca. 200 species in the greenhouses). It preserves some endangered plants (e.g., Chionanthus retusus, Urticularia exoleta), "living fossils" (e.g., Taxodium distichum), and the smallest dragonfly in Japan (Nannophya pygmaea).

The garden has a small exhibition hall on the 2nd floor of a seminar house, featuring plants and insects living in the garden. Monthly changes of flowers and fruits in the garden are also exhibited.
